Revolution Extreme

Image
Our EXP kites were great to learn with, but they had one limitation: they couldn’t handle stronger winds. We soon found ourselves struggling to fly when the wind picked up. That’s when we decided to go for a Revolution Extreme. We wanted to keep progressing and, most importantly, be able to fly in a wider range of wind conditions. When you purchase a Revolution, you can also become a club 38 Member. This gives you the opportunity to work through different levels and improve your quad-line flying skills step by step. Since we really wanted to go all in with quad-line flying, we saw these levels as a fun challenge for ourselves. We achieved Level 1 with our EXPs. But we didn’t just want to complete it individually. We made it a goal to perform the entire Level 1 together, side by side, and record it on video. https://revkites.com/club-38/ Flying the same moves at exactly the same time, while keeping the kites together, turned out to be quite a challenge! But that was exactly what made it...

Zeebrugge-dual line kites

Image
Pr ism hypnotist Fire In the summer of 2025, we headed to Zeebrugge, where a monthly kite gathering takes place, organised through  https://www.tweelijner.be/ We were warmly welcomed and immediately felt very comfortable among the other kite flyers. At that time, we didn’t have much experience with performing tricks with a Dual-Line kite. Luckily, we quickly received lots of advice and useful tips, for which we are incredibly grateful. We learned not only more about the tricks themselves, but also about which equipment would be better for us to buy in the future and which lines would be most suitable. We were amazed by how quickly and effortlessly the experienced flyers performed their tricks. 😍 It all looked so easy… but we now realise how much practice, feeling and technique is involved. We still have a lot to learn! 😉 Our main focus is currently on Quad-Line flying. That is where we want to continue developing our skills and gaining more experience. But we definitely want ...

Brouwersdam, back to basics

Image
On Stephan and Ingeborg’s recommendation, we drove all the way to Brouwersdam and back for a day in May 2025. A big quadline meeting is held there every year, and what a stroke of luck it was for us! We immediately got help from someone who made sure our lines were set up correctly, followed by an entire afternoon of lessons on how to fly properly. It was incredibly valuable, although there was one small downside: we basically had to start from scratch again. 🙈 Still, we went home with a lot of great information and immediately got back to work. But there was so much more that fascinated us that day. For the first time, we saw a stack of quadline kites flying together. Watching multiple kites connected and moving as one was absolutely mesmerising. 🪁 And then there was the huge megateam. Seeing so many pilots flying together, perfectly coordinated, was simply amazing. It made our dream of one day being able to fly together with others even stronger. 😁 And perhaps, one day, even perfo...

Fenix pair

Meet Fenix Pair 🪁❤️ Photo credit: HLN Our first digital contact with Fenix Pair. Ingeborg & Stephan was during the kite festival in Berck-sur-Mer. Since then, we’ve had the pleasure of getting to know them a little better. What a lovely couple they are! So warm, friendly, enthusiastic and always willing to share tips and experiences. We really appreciate how helpful they are and how much we can learn from them. It’s great to meet people who share the same passion and who are so generous with their knowledge. 🪁❤️ And of course… they are not only wonderful people, they are also fantastic kite flyers! 🤩 Fenix Pair have already achieved some fantastic results and won several prizes, including a podium finish at the European Championships. Their teamwork, dedication and beautiful flying are truly impressive. They really show how far you can go when you work together as a team! 🏆🪁 We’re very happy that our paths crossed in the kite world and that we’re getting to know them better. I...

April 2025 - The weekend that changed everything

Image
In April 2025, we travelled to Berck-sur-Mer, France, to spend a weekend at the Rencontres Internationales des Cerfs-Volants (International Kite Festival). The festival was filled with incredible displays, giant inflatable kites, artistic creations, and breathtaking demonstrations by some of the world's best kite pilots. Everywhere we looked, there was something new to admire. One performance, however, stood out above all the others. It was the very first time we saw Fenix Pair fly. Their precision, perfect synchronization, and graceful ballet left a lasting impression on us. I had the chance to film their performance and later sent the video to them. A small gesture that would become the beginning of a connection. During that same weekend, we took an important step in our own kite journey. We bought our first Revolution quad-line kites: two identical EXP models. Our dream was simple but exciting. To one day fly a synchronized ballet together ourselves. With our first Revolution ki...

How our kite flying journey began

Image
Kite flying has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. As a child, I often went flying kites with my father. We especially loved flying dual-line kites. As the years passed, that passion slowly faded, mainly because we no longer had enough space to enjoy the hobby. Everything changed when we started spending more time at the Belgian coast. Being back on the beach brought back so many wonderful memories and rekindled my love for kite flying. I shared those memories with my husband, and before long, he wanted to give it a try himself. He started with a simple dual-line kite from Decathlon. During one of our trips, we discovered a four-line kite for the first time. It immediately caught his attention, and he began experimenting with it. Little by little, we both fell in love with the unique control and precision that four-line kites offer. At that time, we still had our beloved Whippet, Keaton. While my husband was practising, I would often stay with Keaton, enjoying our time...
