After the Flying Comes the Kite Care! ๐ช
A little rain doesn't stop us from enjoying a day of flying! ๐ช Even when the weather isn't perfect, there's nothing quite like being out there together, sharing our passion for kites.
But when the flying is done, there's one more important part of our hobby: taking care of our kites! ๐
After a day of flying in light rain, we took some time to rinse our four-line kites and flying lines with clean water. A little care now helps keep our equipment in good condition for many more flying adventures!
๐ช Our KiteOn kite care tips
๐ง 1. Rinse away the dirt
Sand, dust and dirt can build up during a flying session. Gently rinse your kite and lines with clean water when needed. Avoid strong water pressure and aggressive cleaning products.
๐ฌ️ 2. Let everything dry completely
Never pack away a wet kite for long-term storage. Spread your kites out in a clean, well-ventilated place, away from direct sunlight, and let them dry completely. Pay attention to the seams, reinforcements and connections.
๐งต 3. Give your flying lines some attention
After rinsing, let your lines dry thoroughly. Check them for knots, fraying and damage. Keep them organised on their line winder so they're ready for the next session.
๐ 4. Check your equipment
Take a moment to inspect the sail, stitching, fittings and line attachment points. Spotting small problems early can help prevent bigger ones later.
๐ 5. Store everything with care
Once everything is clean and dry, pack your kites away neatly. Keep them away from prolonged heat and direct sunlight, and make sure your lines are stored without unnecessary tangles.
For us, KiteOn is about more than just flying kites. It's about learning, creating, sharing experiences and taking care of the equipment that makes our adventures possible.
From our home-built projects to our four-line flying sessions, every little detail matters. And when the kites are ready for their next adventure, so are we! ๐๐ช
Because the fun doesn't end when the wind dies down. Sometimes, that's when the next part of the adventure begins!
Keep flying, keep creating and keep sharing the wind!
