April 2025 - The weekend that changed everything
In April 2025, we travelled to Berck-sur-Mer, France, to spend a weekend at the Rencontres Internationales des Cerfs-Volants (International Kite Festival).
The festival was filled with incredible displays, giant inflatable kites, artistic creations, and breathtaking demonstrations by some of the world's best kite pilots. Everywhere we looked, there was something new to admire.
One performance, however, stood out above all the others. It was the very first time we saw Fenix Pair fly. Their precision, perfect synchronization, and graceful ballet left a lasting impression on us. I had the chance to film their performance and later sent the video to them. A small gesture that would become the beginning of a connection.
During that same weekend, we took an important step in our own kite journey. We bought our first Revolution quad-line kites: two identical EXP models. Our dream was simple but exciting. To one day fly a synchronized ballet together ourselves.
With our first Revolution kites also came the discovery of Club 38, an international learning system where quad-line pilots can develop their skills through different levels and receive official evaluations of their flying.
When we returned home to Belgium, our enthusiasm was unstoppable. We immediately started practising together, determined to learn, improve, and enjoy every moment in the sky.
Looking back, that weekend in Berck-sur-Mer wasn't just another kite festival. It marked the beginning of a completely new chapter in our quad-line adventure.
