Kite festival Westende 2026
Our visits to the Westende Kite Festival
We regularly stay in Middelkerke, a Belgian seaside town that has become a familiar place for us. Every year, during the second weekend of June, the town comes alive with a large kite festival, one of the bigger kite events in the region.
But there is much more to experience than just the kites. Alongside the festival, there is a large gathering of Volkswagen vans, a braderie and plenty of other activities. It makes for a great atmosphere and definitely a weekend worth experiencing.
The first year, we simply went to have a look and enjoy all the beautiful kites from the sidelines. But this year was very different.
We visited the festival every afternoon and, for the first time, we were able to fly our quad-line kites as a team of four. What an experience!
A huge thank you to Fenix Pair and the Holland Kite Team for their trust and for giving us the opportunity to join them. Flying together as a team was something we had been looking forward to, and being able to experience it in such a beautiful setting made it even more special.
And then there was the wind... 🌬️
It was just right, allowing us to put our Revolution Condor in the air. Seeing our Condor flying together with all those magnificent festival kites in the background was something truly unique.
It is one of those moments that reminds us why we love kite flying so much: being together, learning, sharing the sky and simply enjoying the wind.
Westende is definitely a festival we will keep coming back to! 🪁💙
