Brouwersdam, back to basics
On Stephan and Ingeborg’s recommendation, we drove all the way to Brouwersdam and back for a day in May 2025. A big quadline meeting is held there every year, and what a stroke of luck it was for us!
We immediately got help from someone who made sure our lines were set up correctly, followed by an entire afternoon of lessons on how to fly properly. It was incredibly valuable, although there was one small downside: we basically had to start from scratch again. π
Still, we went home with a lot of great information and immediately got back to work.
But there was so much more that fascinated us that day. For the first time, we saw a stack of quadline kites flying together. Watching multiple kites connected and moving as one was absolutely mesmerising. πͺ
And then there was the huge megateam. Seeing so many pilots flying together, perfectly coordinated, was simply amazing. It made our dream of one day being able to fly together with others even stronger. π And perhaps, one day, even perform a beautiful choreographed routine together. That would be incredible!
It was also during that day at Brouwersdam that we realised our Revolution EXP was probably no longer going to be enough for us. There was so much more to discover in the world of quadline flying.
Vented, mid vented and SUL… We were beginning to understand that we would eventually need several different quadline kites per person. π
So, it was time to start looking at what we wanted to buy and, more importantly, which combination would suit us best.
Our quadline adventure was clearly only just beginning. πͺ
